mate-themes: BlueMenta/Menta/GreenLaguna theme: Blank "Restore Down" button in abrowser and icedove

Affected (see "upstream issue" links):

  • abrowser 115 and later as well as Firefox 115 and later
  • icedove 115 and later as well as Thunderbird 115 and later

This issue does not affect Trisquel 11.0 live mode, only Trisquel 11.0.1 live mode (or Trisquel 11 installation + latest updates), but both Trisquel versions are using version mate-themes version 3.22.23-1.

Steps to reproduce this issue in Trisquel:

  • Open abrowser, and icedove
  • Maximize the window for abrowser, and icedove
  • Run mate-appearance-properties -p theme
  • In the Theme tab, locate and click on these themes: BlueMenta, Menta, GreenLaguna
  • The "Restore Down" (aka unmaximize) button is blank for these themes for abrowser, and icedove.

Solution

MATE developer: "The Metacity theme would control this... I myself do not have time to rework all the metacity themes for this plus GTK themes, given the current chaos in the US. If others want to rework the theme for this I have no problem with that and can test/merge if it passes but that's it." - https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-themes/issues/315#issuecomment-2773468911
