Blender backport for nabia

Thomas Schiex has discontinued packaging blender for versions newer than xenial. The replacement ppa linked in Thomas Schiex's page is this one: https://launchpad.net/~savoury1/+archive/ubuntu/blender

However, according to the new ppa, this installation has more requirements:

  • Running dependency: ppa:savoury1/ffmpeg4
  • Extra build dependencies: ppa:savoury1/build-tools, ppa:savoury1/backports ppa:savoury1/graphics ppa:savoury1/multimedia
  • Blender 2.92+ requires Python 3.9+. The author recommends installing Numpy using pip. Is there really a workaround for this?
