command-not-found database is missing

In aramao, running a non-exiting or non-installed command in a terminal results in a message saying "Could not find command-not-found database. Run 'sudo apt update' to populate it.". Of course, I already ran this many times.

According to /usr/share/doc/command-not-found/README.md in the command-not-found package:

• the database is to be in /usr/share/command-not-found/commands.db or in /usr/share/command-not-found/programs.d/*.db
• the database is supposed to be fetched from the server when running apt update

However, on my aramo system, there is no /use/share/command-not-found directory.
